Location of Manikin-town (now called Manakin)
If you scroll south across the river, you can see "Manakintown Ferry Road" and "Huguenot Trail". Manikin-town was originally a Huguenot settlement.

There has been considerable discussion in the past between myself and Davide Tooley, who contributed to Glenn Tuley's GEDCOM regarding his and our collaboration on John & Sarah (New) Tuley and the descendants of that marriage. However, we were perplexed with the location of Manikin-town, near the Henrico Co. VA area and the fact that it was listed that Peter Tuly and wife resided there at one one. However, we were unable to connect this line to anyone. I do seem to recall seeing a Peter and a John Tully/Tullie, being on some early-day ship record manifests, as early at the 1650's bound to VA; which could account for some of earlier Tuley's/Tullies' into the VA area. Anyone have any other ideas/thoughts? Peter Tuley, was also shown on some records as being Pietre Tullie. - Charlie
